Paris

James Blunt is celebrating 20 years of "You're Beautiful." People magazine did an article on him and this song. You can check it out here: https://people.com/james-blunt-reveals-youre-beautiful-is-actually-about-stalking-someone-elses-girlfriend-as-inescapable-hit-turns-20-11745455

I love this video. I love this song.

I love these lyrics:

You're beautifulYou're beautifulYou're beautiful, it's trueI saw your face in a crowded placeAnd I don't know what to do'Cause I'll never be with you

Life is full of choices and coulda moments. I suspect that most people have encountered a situation which could, if embraced, alter your path as I did many years ago while traveling.

I was in Paris alone. Can't even remember where in Paris I was. I was walking either in the direction of a museum or a funky shop my usual go-to's. Whatever avenue I was on was crowded and full of vendors.  As I walking up the street toward a stall the vendor - very handsome - and I made eye contact. I was in my late 30s, he appeared to be early 30s. We exchanged smiles and as I passed he asked me (in French none the less) to come back later.  But I didn't . . .

Every time I hear this song or see the video (on MTV at the gym) I'm transported back to that moment and that brief exchange. Even after all these years . . .
